About TUTUM Shipping

TUTUM Shipping is a leading shipping and consulting firm, offering an extensive range of services that encompass complete ship management and specialised project consultancy. Founded in December 2023 by Jan Rindebæk and Lars Pihl Fly, the company prides itself on its equal ownership and collaborative ethos.

Our foundation is firmly rooted in a rich combination of Chief Engineer and Master Marine expertise, accumulated over several decades across a diverse array of vessels. However, our primary focus and expertise lie in the realm of chemical and product tankers. In addition to our extensive sea-going experience, we bring two decades of technical vessel management to the table, further solidifying our comprehensive knowledge in the field.

At TUTUM Shipping, we offer a holistic approach to ship management and operation, covering a wide spectrum of aspects to ensure efficiency and compliance. Our team’s experience is vast and varied, encompassing virtually every facet of the shipping industry.

New benchmarks

Officially commencing operations on the 8th of December, 2023, we quickly moved to assert our presence in the industry. By the 29th of December, 2023, we had successfully taken over the full management of our first four vessels. This swift transition was seamlessly executed, adhering strictly to all statutory requirements and industry standards.

Our commitment to excellence is unwavering, and we continuously strive to set new benchmarks in the shipping and consulting domain. With TUTUM Shipping, clients are assured of receiving top-tier service, grounded in decades of expertise and a profound understanding of the intricacies of maritime operations.

Mission

Our goal is to work with dedication and responsibility, focusing on professionalism, structure, and accountability to achieve technical and human excellence while ensuring sustainable operations. We have, by our name ‘TUTUM’ (which means ‘safe’ in Latin), committed ourselves to prioritizing safety at sea. This is the result of the commitment and collaboration between a skilled ship crew and a qualified organization ashore.

Vision

Our approach is to always select the best possible option in any given situation, serving the purpose most effectively. This allows the crew to deliver an outstanding service to our customer, with equipment providing a technical performance second to none.

Our vision encompasses a holistic understanding of the interaction between commercial requirements, operational optimizations, and operational stability, with the ultimate goal of achieving profitability and maintaining a well-reputed fleet. In pursuing this vision, we uphold the following principles:

  • We respect our employees and aspire for zero injuries.
  • We respect the environment and strive for zero spills.
  • We respect property, whether belonging to others or ourselves, and aim for zero damage.
  • We respect our customers and are committed to providing the best service possible.

In terms of crewing for the vessels, we strive to employ only those individuals who possess documented experience and skills in their field for senior positions. Simultaneously, we encourage educational and career development plans for trainees and newly qualified personnel. This strategy ensures we can provide the best possible service to our clients.
